Day 60

Walking with Isaiah, Day 60: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” - Isaiah 60:1-2.

This is a direct prophecy of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Anointed One.

With what was our Lord anointed?  Himself said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me…” - Luke 4:18.

And Isaiah prophesied, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” - Isaiah 60:1.

What was UPON Jesus?  He said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.”  Isaiah said, “The glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”

The Glory of the Lord is the Spirit of the Lord and the Spirit of the Lord is the Glory of the Lord.

We see this more clearly, in Romans:

“…Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father,…” - Romans 6:4.  What raised up Christ from the dead?  The Glory.

“…the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead…” - Romans 8:11. What raised up Jesus from the dead?  The Spirit.

The Glory of the Lord is the Spirit of the Lord and the Spirit of the Lord is the Glory of the Lord.

Beloved Christian, disciple of Christ, this same Anointing, this same Spirit, this same Glory of Almighty God shall come UPON you, if you believe Him and receive Him.

He is already WITHIN you.  The Glory is already within you!  If you are a Christian, the Holy Spirit abides IN you.  “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” - I Corinthians 3:16.

But there is another experience subsequent to Salvation.  It is the Baptism in the Holy Spirit; being endued (clothed) with power from on high.

What did Jesus tell His disciples, the ones who believed in Him?  “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” - Luke 24:49.

Where will Jesus send the Promise?  “UPON you.”  This is different from WITHIN you.

He also told the believers, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:…” - Acts 1:8.  Where will the Holy Ghost come?  “UPON you.”

This same Anointing, this same Spirit, this same Glory has been made available to arise UPON every Christian, every disciple of Christ, every believer.

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” - Isaiah 60:1-2.
